Castle Design has finalised the design for a new Art Centre in Wujal Wujal, shaped through extensive consultation with local artists, community and stakeholders.
The centre brings together studios, workshops, exhibition spaces and flexible community areas, creating a place to make, share and celebrate art while strengthening cultural expression and supporting the future of local arts practice.
Wujal Wujal Place of Refuge
Following Tropical Cyclone Jasper, Castle Design developed the concept for a resilient Place of Refuge in Wujal Wujal.
Designed for both emergency response and everyday community life, the facility incorporates flexible gathering spaces, a commercial kitchen, amenities and administration areas.
Shaped through community consultation, the design balances resilience, functionality and cultural identity to create a lasting community asset.
Wujal Wujal Administration Centre
Castle Design has prepared the concept design for a new Council Administration Centre following the severe damage caused by Tropical Cyclone Jasper and flooding.
The resilient, contemporary facility brings together administration, meeting, customer service and staff spaces.
Developed with Council and community stakeholders, the design creates an accessible and welcoming civic workplace that supports Council operations and Wujal Wujal’s long-term recovery.
Wujal Wujal Gym
This project has been developed through extensive community consultation to ensure the gym reflects the needs, values, and cultural identity of local families.
The space will provide a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where children can play, explore, and connect with one another.
Our design focuses on creating a high-quality, sustainable setting that supports active play and social interaction while respecting local cultural context.
Community Playground
A vibrant outdoor destination designed to encourage play, exploration, and recreation through integrated playground, water play, and cycling facilities for all ages.
